Susan Torella

Thank you for your poem. Your words "painful joy" when remembering life with your loved one has so much meaning for me. Many friends tell me to just remember the good times. They have not suffered this loss so they cannot understand that those memories are the most painful of all!!! This person you adored DECIDED to leave those good memories for whatever their reasons that you try to figure out and understand thinking this will enable you to reconcile with the death. Nothing and no one can give you that. This death is now part of your life, not something you pass through or move on from or get over. It is what you said in your poem - we loved and still love and always will love someone who "death has touched" in the most tragic and senseless way.
